Answer:
One of the most memorable holidays I’ve ever had was a trip to Mashhad, a beautiful and spiritual city in the northeast of Iran. I had planned this journey about two years ago, and I finally got the chance to go during Nowruz, the Persian New Year, with my family.
This trip was really important to me because I had been wanting to visit the Imam Reza shrine, which is one of the holiest places for Shia Muslims. I traveled with my parents, my younger sister, and my uncle’s family. We all stayed in a hotel close to the shrine, so we could easily walk there every day.
During our stay, we visited the shrine several times, especially at night when the lighting made the whole area look magical and peaceful. Apart from that, we also explored other places in Mashhad like the Tomb of Ferdowsi, which I found very interesting because I love Persian literature. We also enjoyed the local food—especially sholeh and saffron ice cream, which were absolutely delicious!
What made this holiday truly unforgettable was not only the spiritual feeling of being in Mashhad during Nowruz, but also the quality time I got to spend with my family. Everyone was in a good mood, the atmosphere was festive, and the city was beautifully decorated with flowers and lights. It felt like a perfect combination of tradition, faith, and happiness.
To this day, I still remember the feeling of peace I had there. I hope to visit Mashhad again in the future, maybe with more relatives or even close friends, because it was such a meaningful and memorable experience for me.
